Students with verified disabilities from Prep to Year 6 are able to access our Special Education Program (SEP). This program is dedicated to supporting the diverse educational needs of every individual student.
We provide programs and support through several methods. In some cases students are supported through modified curriculum or additional teacher aide support in regular classrooms. Students with more specific high level needs may access our Specialised Program in our purpose built wing.
Here classes are smaller in size, with a literacy, numeracy and life-skills focus, allowing for more individual attention. Our SEP classrooms are equipped with some of the latest technology including interactive whiteboards, iPods, listening posts, and sensory modulation areas. We are fully fenced, and have our own playground area, kitchen, male and female bathrooms and laundry. We have an amazing new facility with multiple classrooms and play spaces.
We aim to promote enjoyable and effective hands on learning experiences through participation in life skill activities such as horse riding, cooking, gardening and life stream games and activities.
The program is coordinated by our Head of Special Education services, ably supported by the staff of six teachers and eleven teacher aides who support our children in specialised SEP programs, as well as in main-stream classes.
