We strive to provide the best curriculum possible at Berserker Street State School. Our curriculum is under the direction of our very experienced Head of Curriculum, Mrs Elizabeth Rose. Currently this curriculum is based on the Australian Curriculum for all eight learning areas including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences (history and geography), Technologies, The Arts (including Music) and Health &
Physical Education.
Computers are used across all learning areas. Information, Communication Technologies (ICT) are integrated into every day learning at Berserker Street State School. Every classroom is connected and we maintain a large computer network, with interactive whiteboards connected to the internet and network in every single learning space. We also have established an Innovation Centre in which students are inspired to design and build LEGO Robotics as well as creating 3D art work with the 3D printer.
We aim to support our curriculum with excellent resources and have one of the best resourced libraries in Rockhampton. Our teacher librarian/head of curriculum is an expert and is able to support classroom learning with ideas, resources and contacts.
All teachers engage in planning each term working in year level teams with the Head of Curriculum to develop quality programs and assessment for their classes.
